Drive America’s Highways for 22 miles south along US-425 from Star City to Monticello, Arkansas
We start the video at the intersection of US-425 and Arkansas Highway 114 in Star City. Driving south along the main drag, we cross the intersections with AR-11 and AR-293 before heading out of town near the intersection with CR-29.
Heading generally south, we soon pass the intersections with AR-54 and AR-11 before entering the community of Relfs Bluff. Staying on US-425, we quickly pass through Relfs Bluff and the town of Montongo before reaching the intersection with AR-35 and entering the town Monticello.
At Monticello, we continue into town on U.S. Highway 425, passing the strip mall and fast food district before reaching the interchange with US-278, where we end the video.
Yep! It's still pretty much the same after all these years! I recognized the "5 Mile Hill" turn off about 5 miles north of Monticello! It angles off to the right at the crest of that last hill before the gentle downgrade into the north end of town! Definitely recognized the Highway 35 intersection at the north edge of town also! What good memories! I appreciate you uploading this video! Mark in Iowa.
I don’t see why it isn’t four lanes until at least the Lincoln county line, southern Arkansas and northern Louisiana have the worst drivers so its needed. I’ve traveled this highway many times. Not much ever changes about this town.
I concur. I just drove this both ways again yesterday and god help you if you get stuck behind someone who is scared of going over 40mph or a semi.
Yes.
