The segment of U.S. Highway 78 in Leeds begins at the intersection with Alabama Highway 25 on the east side of town. Travelling northwest as Parkway Dr, the highway passes through downtown, where it intersects U.S. Route 411, before turning briefly southwest after crossing the Little Cahaba River.

Continuing westbound, the road bends around a hill before reaching the intersection with Rex Lake Rd, just before the interchange with I-20, where the segment of U.S. Route 78 in Leeds ends.
