🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 44 miles east along U.S. Highway 70 from Lonoke to Brinkley in Arkansas. 🛣️
We start the drive at the intersection with Arkansas Highway 31 in central Lonoke. Driving east, we soon leave Lonoke, briefly turning southeast before turning east once again before the intersection with Arkansas Highway 381. Continuing on US-70, we enter Carlisle where we end part 1 at the intersection with Arkansas Highway 13.
Part 2 starts with us driving east from the highway 13 intersection in Carlisle. Passing Carlisle High School, we leave town and drive about 8 miles through the Arkansas prairie to Hazen. At Hazen, we cross the intersection with U.S. Highway 63 north where we stay on highway 70 towards Brinkley. A mile later, we reach the intersection with US-63 south, where we end part 2.
Entering Prairie County just past the highway 63 intersection, we start Part 3 just west of De Valls Bluff. Heading east, we drive just over 4 miles to enter De Valls Bluff, where we turn north and end this segment at the intersection with Arkansas Highway 33 south.
Driving north, we turn northeast to leave De Valls Bluff, turning briefly east to cross the White River. Turning once again northeast, we enter Biscoe at an intersection with AR-33 north. Part 5 begins with us driving northeast through Biscoe, leaving town shortly after the start of the segment. Approaching the Cache River, US 70 becomes extremely bumpy as the pavement is warped and dire need of replacement. Crossing the Cache River, we turn east, dodging potholes for the next few miles until the junction with Arkansas Highway 17 southwest of Brinkley. Turning northeast at AR-17, the road becomes slightly better for the last few miles towards Brinkley where the segment ends at the junction with U.S. Highway 49 south.
Entering Brinkley on a concurrent U.S. 70 and U.S. 49, Part 6 begins with us driving northeast into town. At the intersection with Sycamore St, we turn north for the final mile or so to the intersection with U.S. 49 north, where we end the video continuing north on U.S. 49.
