🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 6 miles south along Arkansas Highway 5 from Fountain Lake to Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The Hot Springs Bypass extension – Arkansas Highway 5, opened September 18, 2023, connects the existing Hot Springs Bypass (US-70/US-270) with Arkansas Highway 7 and the existing Arkansas Highway 5 in Fountain Lake. The new highway is 5.8 miles long and cuts through the Ouachita Mountains as it snakes its way through rural Garland County.
Our ride starts at the north end of the extension at a traffic circle with AR-7 and AR-5 in Fountain Lake. Driving generally south, we pass the interchange with Mill Creek Rd before reaching the end of the ride at the junction with U.S. Route 70 just east of Hot Springs.
