Drive America’s Highways for 30 miles north along U.S. Highway 64 from Alma to Brentwood in Arkansas
We start the video turning onto US-71B just south of Interstate 40 in Alma. Driving north the road turns into US-71 at I-40. Continuing north on US 71, we leave Alma as we start to climb the Boston Mountains. We soon enter the small town of Mountainburg, where we pass the intersection with AR-282. Crossing the Frog Bayou to leave Mountainburg, we pass Lake Fort Smith and Artist Point before reaching Winslow and an intersection with AR-74 west.
Continuing north on US-71 in Winslow, we continue 5 more miles north to the intersection with AR-74 east, just south of Brentwood, where we end the video.
David Backlin — my only US-71 video 😐
At one time, this strech was often described as one of the most dangerous highways in America. Driving this at night, in snowfall, with 18 wheelers behind you – was precarious. It was definitely 'the scenic route' though. LOL
