Tennessee State Route 385
State Route 385 (SR 385) is the designation for two non-contiguous segments of east–west controlled-access highway in the Memphis metro area in southwest Tennessee.
The northern segment, also known as Paul W. Barret Parkway, is a controlled-access highway that runs east-west for 16.87 miles. It is part of a planned outer beltway around the Memphis metropolitan area. The highway begins at a diamond interchange with US 51 in Millington, just south of the Naval Support Activity Mid-South. It heads east through rolling hills, passing by several farms and wooded areas. There are a few interchanges along the way, including one with US 70 / US 79 and another with SR 14.
Just east of US 70 / US 79, Barret Parkway turns slightly southward and passes through the town of Rosemark. The highway then crosses I-269 before terminating at a diamond interchange with I-40 in Arlington.
The southern segment, also known as Bill Morris Parkway, is a scenic and well-maintained freeway that connects the city of Memphis to the affluent suburb of Collierville, Tennessee. The parkway is a popular route for both commuters and those seeking a direct route to the airport or downtown.
The drive from Memphis to Collierville on the Bill Morris Parkway begins at a directional T-interchange with Interstate 240 on the city’s southeast side. The parkway soon enters the rapidly developing community of Hickory Hill, and is characterized by its six lanes of traffic.
As Tennessee 385 approaches Collierville, it narrows to four lanes and enters a more rural setting. The parkway winds its way through the rolling hills of eastern Shelby County, offering drivers views of the surrounding suburbia. SR-385 terminates at Interstate 269 in Collierville.
Overall, the drive from Memphis to Collierville on Bill Morris Parkway is a pleasant and enjoyable experience. The parkway is well-maintained and offers drivers a variety of scenic views. Road enthusiasts will appreciate the parkway’s smooth pavement and its well-designed interchanges.
