Drive America’s Highways for 15 miles south along Interstate 540 from Van Buren to Fort Smith in Arkansas

We start the video at the northern terminus of Interstate 540 at Interstate 40 near Van Buren, Arkansas. Travelling generally south, we pass through Van Buren before turning southwest at the interchange with US-64. Crossing the Arkansas River, we enter Fort Smith, where the highway turns south again to bypass Ft. Smith to the east.

At AR-22, the interstate again turns southwest to pass by the Fort Smith Airport before crossing an interchange with AR-45. At US-71, we return to a more westerly route as we drive the last mile or so in Arkansas. At US-271, I-540 ends and becomes US-271 to enter Oklahoma, where we end the video.
