🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 41 miles north along Interstate 49 from Alma to Fayetteville, Arkansas.
We start the video merging onto Interstate 49 in Arkansas at it’s southern terminus* at Interstate 40 in Alma. Continuing through the scenic Boston Mountains and paralleling U.S. Highway 71, we drive through the towns of Mountainburg, and Artist Point before driving through the Bobby Hopper Tunnel just before Winslow.
Continuing north, we pass the town of West Fork before reaching the outer regions of the Fayetteville metro area. Passing through Greenland, at an interchange with Wilson Street, we continue into Fayetteville where we end the video at the interchange with Arkansas Highway 265 — Razorback Road.
*Interstate 49 is a work in progress in Arkansas. There is a segment in the southwest corner of the state by Texarkana that has it’s own mileage system. There is also a small segment near Ft. Chaffee and Fort Smith that continues the southwest segments mileage. The portion of I-49 in this video is on the northwest corner of the state and was once Interstate 540 and has different mileage than the southwest segment. Because of this, we are labeling the southern terminus as Interstate 40 in Alma.
