Join us on this our latest short video as we drive to the Interstate 44 eastern terminus in St. Louis, Missouri.
Interstate 44, Interstate Highways, Missouri, St. Louis
The big problem with extending I-44 pursuant with the Stan Span is that it meant that the final about two miles of I-44, an east-west route, go north-south. Furthermore, it created something of a wrong way confusion, because what used to be WB I-70 is now EB I-44, and vice-versa.My recommendation was to rename what I-70 no longer used after the Stan Span rerouting to an I-x55.
The same problem exists with I-30 in downtown Little Rock. It's E/W hwy travelling N/S.
Come to think of it, I-44 at the other terminus has the same problem. From just north of Lawton, Oklahoma all the way south (west?) to the terminus.
