Drive America’s Highways for 126.5 miles along Interstate 40 from mile marker 79.5 in Jackson to Nashville at exit 206
We start this drive between the exit to U.S. Highway 412 west and U.S. Highway 45 Bypass in Jackson, the birthplace of Casey Jones and head east for 126.5 miles to the junction of Interstate 440 in Nashville. Along the way we pass through the town of Parkers Crossroads before crossing the Tennessee and Buck rivers near Bucksnort.
At this point, Interstate 40 turns northeast towards Dickson and state route 46 and 48 (both to Centerville and Dickson) before resuming a generally east direction. Just past Dickson, we cross the western terminus of Interstate 840 (formerly Tennesse State Highway 840 — still signed as such as of April 2017, but Google has it as I-840, which is what we are using for routing) on the western edge of the Nashville metro.
Entering the metro, we cross the junctions of U.S. Highway 70S in Bellevue, U.S. Highway 70 in Nashville and the Briley Parkway (TN-155) before ending at the northwest terminus of Interstate 440.
