Historic Route 66 in Springfield, Missouri – Revisited

🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 7 miles west along the historic Route 66 in Springfield, Missouri.

We start the drive along historic Route 66 in Springfield turning on to St. Louis St just a few feet west of the intersection with Glenstone Ave. Continuing west along St. Louis St, we pass through mainly commercial areas as we make our way towards downtown Springfield.

In downtown, St. Louis St becomes Park Central as it loops its way around town square in the heart of Springfield. Driving halfway around the square, we turn right onto Park Central West as it becomes College St where we continue west along the mother road for a mile to the intersection with MO-13 (Kansas Expressway). Continuing west on College St, we drive another mile through a mix of residential and light commercial properties to the intersection with the Chestnut Expressway.

After a fuel stop at Casey’s, we continue west on the Chestnut Expressway, which now carries the Historic Route 66 designation, for 3 miles, crossing the intersection with U.S. Highway 160 (West Bypass) before reaching the end of the video at the interchange with Interstate 44.
