π Drive America’s Highways for 24 miles south along Arkansas Highway 23 – Pig Trail Scenic Byway from Brashears to Ozark in Arkansas ππ
We start the video turning south onto Arkansas Highway 23 from a conjoined highway 16 and 23 in the community of Brashears. Starting out, Arkansas 23 is generally straight for it’s first few miles. As we approach Mulberry Mountain, the road begins to snake around mountains through the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest. Just south of the intersection with Arkansas Highway 215, we enter Cass, passing the Job Corps complex and a few residential plots as we continue south, crossing the Mulberry River and Turner Bend.
A few switchbacks later, AR-23 begins to straighten out once again as we leave the National Forest and enter the Arkansas River Valley region and enter the community of White Oak. Crossing the western terminus of Arkansas Highway 352 in White Oak, we continue south on the Pig Trail a few more miles to just before the Interstate 40 interchange, where we end the video turning into a fuel stop a few dozen yards north of I-40.
