Arkansas Highway 227: Hot Springs to Lake Ouachita State Park

🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 12 miles north along Arkansas Highway 227 from Hot Springs to Lake Ouachita State Park in west-central Arkansas.

We start the ride from Hot Springs to Lake Ouachita State Park turning north onto Arkansas Highway 227 at the intersection with U.S. Highway 270 in Piney, just west of Hot Springs. Driving generally north, we pass the entrance to the Mid-America Science Museum and National Park College as we leave Hot Springs north of the intersection with Blacksnake Road. Continuing north, we enter the Mountain Pine community where we turn right at the intersection with AR-192 to stay on highway 227.

Three miles or so later, we reach the intersection with highway 192 east where we continue north on 227 to enter Lake Ouachita State Park. Entering the park, we continue on Arkansas Highway 227 until it ends at the visitors center, where we end the video.
