Arkansas Highway 14: Mountain View to Big Flat

🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 17 miles west along Arkansas Highway 14 from Allison near Mountain View to Big Flat.

We start the ride from Mountain View to Big Flat turning onto AR-14 from Highway 5/9 in Allison, just north of Mountain View. Driving generally west along the Sylamore Scenic Byway, we enter the Ozark National Forest, where we pass the northern terminus for Arkansas Highway 87. Just west of the AR-87 intersection, we pass the entrance to Blanchard Springs — a recreation area within the National Forest featuring an impressive cave system. Leaving the National Forest, and the Sylamore Scenic Byway, we enter the town of Fifty-Six.

Passing through the only other incorporated city aside from Mountain View in Stone County, we make our way through Fifty-Six, driving generally northwest at this point. Leaving town, we continue on AR-14 a few miles until we make a quick stop at a convenience store along the way. Leaving the store, we continue another few miles to the southern terminus of Arkansas Highway 341 – Push Mountain Road, where we end the video turning northbound on AR-341, just east of Big Flat.
