Tennessee State Route 55

Tennessee State Route 55 winds through the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee, offering a scenic drive for road enthusiasts. The highway begins in Lynchburg, a small town with a charming historic district. From there, SR 55 heads northeast through rural areas, passing by farms, forests, and occasional small towns.

The drive from Lynchburg to Tullahoma is particularly scenic, with winding roads and rolling hills. Just outside of Tullahoma, SR 55 passes by the Arnold Engineering Development Center, a large aerospace testing facility. In Tullahoma, SR 55 joins US 41A for a short concurrency before continuing northeast on its own.

From Tullahoma to Manchester, SR 55 is a four-lane highway that passes through more developed areas. In Manchester, SR 55 intersects US 41 and Interstate 24. From Manchester, SR 55 continues northeast through smaller towns and rural areas.

The drive from Manchester to McMinnville is less scenic than the drive from Lynchburg to Manchester, but it is still enjoyable. SR 55 passes through several small towns along the way, including Summitville and Morrison. Just outside of McMinnville, SR 55 passes by the Warren County Memorial Airport.

In McMinnville, SR 55 ends at US 70S and SR 380. The drive from Lynchburg to McMinnville along SR 55 is approximately 50 miles long and takes about an hour to complete.
