Interstate 68

Interstate 68, also known as the National Freeway in Maryland, is a 113 mile interstate connecting I-79 in West Virginia to I-70 in Maryland. The freeway crosses mainly rural areas and crosses various mountain ridges along much of its route. The control cities for I-68 are Morgantown, West Virginia and Cumberland and Hancock, Maryland. Advertised as an alternate route to Ohio and points west, I-68 is the main route connecting the the more populated regions of Maryland with the more rural western panhandle region.
