Drive America’s Highways for 77 miles east along Interstate 70 from West Street in downtown Indianapolis to the Ohio state line near Richmond, Indiana.
The drive begins near the western edge of downtown Indianapolis, where Interstate 70 travels through the city’s central highway network. Heading east, the route joins Interstate 65 through the North Split before Interstate 70 separates and continues toward the eastern side of Indianapolis.
Beyond downtown, Interstate 70 passes several major city interchanges, including connections with Rural Street, Keystone Avenue, Emerson Avenue, Shadeland Avenue, and Post Road. The highway then crosses Interstate 465 and leaves the Indianapolis urban area behind.
East of the beltway, the surroundings gradually transition from warehouses, commercial development, and suburban neighborhoods to the open farmland of Hancock County. Interstate 70 passes Mount Comfort and approaches Greenfield, where connections provide access to United States Route Forty and communities throughout eastern central Indiana.
Continuing east, the highway crosses into Henry County and passes near Knightstown, Spiceland, and New Castle. This portion of the drive follows a mostly rural corridor of broad fields, wooded stream valleys, truck stops, and widely spaced interchanges.
Interstate 70 then continues past the Cambridge City and Hagerstown area before entering Wayne County. Approaching Richmond, the highway passes through an active transportation and industrial corridor serving eastern Indiana. Interchanges connect with United States Route Thirty-Five, United States Route Twenty-Seven, and several state highways before the route reaches the eastern edge of Richmond.
The video concludes as Interstate 70 crosses the Indiana–Ohio state line, where the highway continues east toward Dayton and Columbus.
