Interstate 64: Frankfort to Louisville – Kentucky

🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 57 miles west along Interstate 64 from Frankfort to Louisville, Kentucky.

We start the drive from Frankfort to Louisville merging into Interstate 64 from the U.S. Highway 60 interchange in southeast Frankfort. Driving generally west, we pass through the southern edges of Shelbyville and Simpsonville before entering the Louisville Metro. Crossing the junction with the Gene Snyder Freeway (Interstate 265), we continue west into Louisville where we pass the interchange with KY-1747 (Hurstbourne Pkwy).

Continuing west into Louisville, we pass the Watterson Expressway (Interstate 264), turning northwest shortly after to enter the downtown area where we intersect Interstate 65 at a brand new spaghetti junction. Entering downtown, we pass between the Ohio River and the Commercial District before leaving downtown at the interchange with 22nd street. Gently turning west once again, we pass the intersection with the western terminus of Interstate 264 before turning northwest to cross the Ohio River on the Sherman Minton Bridge, where we end the video entering Indiana.
